How We Support Financial Educators and Communities Across India
Leading Training & Credentials for Financial Educators
The NFEC has trained and certified more than 5,000 graduates through our Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) program. Together, they’ve logged over 300,000 hours of professional development and reached 1.4 million people across 71+ countries and every U.S. state.
At the heart of what we do are the industry standards we created for financial education instructors. Our Framework for Teaching Personal Finance – developed with the Danielson Group and aligned with InTASC principles – lays out the knowledge, skills, and real-world teaching practices that define an excellent financial educator. Earning the CFEI credential shows that an instructor meets those standards and brings strong ethics, solid instructional skills, and a high level of professionalism to every program they lead.
Launch-to-Impact Program Support
The NFEC delivers comprehensive support that lets instructors and program leaders stay focused on creating real impact. Whether you’re building a new initiative or enhancing one already in motion, we collaborate with you to design, staff, and expand high‑quality financial education programs that generate clear, measurable results. Our mission is straightforward: increase program effectiveness while easing the time, cost, and staffing demands typically required to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Financial education continues to grow from the ground up, and we’re committed to expanding access so organizations of all sizes can offer programs that matter. Through turnkey resources, training, funding insights, and community partnerships, we help local groups deliver practical learning experiences that strengthen financial capability, build confidence, and support long‑term resilience.
Community Mobilization – Local Chapter Leadership
Our country-level chapters are where big ideas turn into real‑world impact. They take instructor training and put it into motion through hands‑on advocacy, local support, and financial wellness programs that communities can actually feel. Whether it’s teaching life‑changing money skills or teaming up with local leaders, NFEC chapters show up for community organizations – and they make sure to celebrate that work with award ceremonies that honor standout students, educators, and community champions.
Each chapter is guided by a local Advisory Board that focuses on three core priorities. Empowerment means giving people the confidence and know‑how to make smart financial decisions. Advocacy means running campaigns that push for real policy and funding commitments. And Relationships means building strong partnerships with schools, employers, media, and policymakers so financial education can take root and last. Together, these pillars help turn classroom learning into long‑term, measurable change across entire communities
National Advocacy with Community Impact
The NFEC is accelerating a national movement to ensure that every student leaves high school ready to thrive financially. We’re driving change on all fronts – raising standards, shaping public opinion, influencing policy, and dismantling systems that perpetuate financial illiteracy. With strong partners, rigorous benchmarks, and targeted legislative action, we’re elevating financial wellness as a top priority in education, health, and the economy.
Our United for Financial Literacy Advocacy Committee brings together committed advocates who take on a new, high‑impact campaign each quarter to advance financial wellness nationwide.
